Ankardiansyah Pandu Pradana
Make It Simple But Significant
A Quick Biography
I'm a lecturer in the Plant Protection Study Program at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jember. I completed my undergraduate studies at Jenderal Soedirman University and obtained my master's degree through a joint program between IPB University and Hokkaido University, focusing on the biological control of plant-parasitic nematodes. In 2022, I participated in training and research at Saga University, Japan, specifically on plant-parasitic nematodes.
Since joining the University of Jember in 2019, I have taught various courses such as Plant Nematology, Plant Clinic, and others related to plant protection and biotechnology. Additionally, I contribute to the Career, Entrepreneurship, and Alumni Center at the university, managing alumni tracer study data.
I am also actively involved in the MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka) team, where I guide and support students in off-campus programs, assisting them from the inception of their programs to the conversion of their activities into academic credits.
On-Going Research
My current research focuses on analyzing plant-parasitic nematodes in major Indonesian crops using morphometric analysis and DNA barcoding. The goal is to develop effective biological control methods for these pests. Together with my research group and students, we are working on formulating biofertilizers that serve as both fertilizers and bionematicides. Our aim is to control nematodes while simultaneously restoring degraded soils.
On-Going Extension Activities
In our extension activities, my research group, along with students, focuses on transferring technology related to organic fertilizer made from livestock manure, which we fortify with PGPR and PGPF developed from our research. We have worked with local farmers to apply this technology to various crops, including coffee in plantations, rice and corn in food crops, and various horticultural plants.
Research and Extension Group
In my academic pursuits, I am part of three research and community service groups, known as KeRis-DiMas, which operate at different levels: study program, faculty, and university. Each group has a distinct focus and role, contributing to a wide range of research and community service initiatives. These groups collectively enhance our capabilities in addressing various academic and societal challenges, fostering a collaborative environment for innovation and community engagement.
